We participated in QHack Quantum Coding Championship 2026
October 16–23, 2026 | The PennyLane-powered quantum computing coding competition, QHack, welcomed hobbyists, students, and curious developers to a hands-on challenge focused on accessible education and practical growth. Four members of the Quantum AI Biomedical Research Lab — Renata Wong, Yu-Hao Chen, Thanh Dat Nguyen, and Hope Alemayehu Getu — competed as the team Codecrafters. Together, we completed 17 out of the 23 challenges.
We attended Qiskit Global Summer School 2026: A Decade on the Cloud
The two-week Qiskit Global Summer School 2026: A Decade on the Cloud, organized by IBM Quantum, ran from 13–24 July 2026. Four members of the Quantum AI Biomedical Research Lab — Renata Wong, Yu-Hao Chen, Thanh Dat Nguyen, and Hope Alemayehu Getu — received the Quantum Excellence badge upon completing the program. The summer school featured lectures and hands-on learning in quantum computing and Qiskit. The Excellence Badge required participants to complete at least 80% of the core lectures and all laboratory assignments.
